John Deere HarvestLab Grain Sensing
The HarvestLab 3000 NIRS sensor has been available from John Deere for several years. What is new is the use of combine harvesters, which not only provides exciting data for the harvest. The sensor with the new calibration can determine the protein content of wheat, barley and rapeseed, the starch content of barley and the oil content of rapeseed. This gives farmers site-specific information about the harvest. Margins can be marketed depending on quality. Farmers can also control their fertilization and see how nutrients applied have affected yield and quality.
